Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem in Arlington Heights, IL, is seeking an MRI Technologist II for Northwest Community Hospital. This part-time role covers 24 hours weekly with a 3pm–11:30pm shift and on-call weekends/holidays.

You will operate MRI equipment, position patients, administer contrast, and produce high-quality images while delivering compassionate, clear communication to reduce anxiety and answer questions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Associate's Degree or higher.
• Required: ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certified.
• Preferred: IEMA licensure.
• Current CPR Certification (BLS) issued by American Heart Association.
• Preferred: Prior MRI or radiology experience.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems related to the software.

Responsibilities

• Operates MRI equipment to obtain diagnostic images for physicians' use.
• Positions patients and administers injections of contrast media.
• Manipulates images to ensure a high-quality exam.
• Delivers excellent customer service and communicates clearly to reduce anxiety.
• Explains procedure to patient and answers questions.

Hourly Pay Range

$35.35 - $54.79 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Sign-ON BONUS: $5,000
• Position: MRI Technologist II
• Location: Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, IL
• Part-Time, 24 hours weekly
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 3pm - 11:30pm, on-call schedule, rotating weekends & holidays

What you will do

Operates MRI equipment to obtain diagnostic images for use by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies, according to Radiologist's directions and established procedures. Positions patients, administers injections of contrast media and manipulates images to ensure a high-quality exam. Delivers and ensures customer service in all aspects to job, being attentive of eye contact, facial/body expressions and tone of voice. Explains procedure to patient, giving opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust.

What you will need

• High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred: A minimum of an Associate's Degree or higher
• Required: ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT (American Registry of MRI Technologists) certified
• Preferred: IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) licensure
• Current CPR Certification (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
• Preferred: Prior MRI experience or other radiology experience
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to troubleshoot problems as related to the software
