Job summary

HCA HealthONE is seeking an MRI Technologist (PRN) to operate MRI scanners, explain procedures to patients, position patients, and ensure high‑quality images for accurate diagnosis.

Responsibilities include preparing exams, documenting studies, maintaining scanner knowledge, and contributing to staff orientation. ARRT MR registration, BLS, and an accredited radiologic technology program are required; prior MRI experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Currently registered as MRI Technologist (ARRT MR).
  • BLS verification as required by policy.
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • One year MRI imaging department experience preferred.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • Valid credentials such as ARRT-MR, ARRT-R, ARMRIT, or an associate degree.

Responsibilities

  • Position and prepare patients for exams according to procedure type.
  • Perform procedures, monitor patients, and address needs during exams.
  • Complete documentation for each study performed.
  • Apply professional discernment and critical thinking in procedures.
  • Participate in orientation and training of new staff and students.
  • Maintain knowledge of scanners and exam protocols to ensure quality.

Job description

Hourly Wage Estimate: $38.60 - $59.16 / hour

Job Summary

As an MRI Technologist (PRN), you will operate MRI scanners, ensuring that the procedure yields high‑quality images and information for the healthcare professional to diagnose accurately. Your role includes interviewing patients, explaining procedures, positioning patients on the table, and maintaining a detailed knowledge of scanners and exam protocols.

  • Position and prepare patients for exams according to the type of procedure.
  • Perform procedures, assess patients throughout, and respond to patient needs as appropriate.
  • Complete appropriate documentation for each study performed.
  • Use professional discernment and critical thinking when performing procedures.
  • Participate in orientation and training of new staff members and teach students during their clinical rotations.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of scanners and exam protocols to ensure the highest quality procedures.
Qualifications
  • Currently registered as an MRI Technologist (ARRT MR registry).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification, as specified in policy.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • One year of experience in an MRI Imaging Department preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Valid credentials such as ARRT-MR, ARRT-R, ARMRIT, or Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology.

No Travel Required.
