Job Summary
As an MRI Technologist (PRN), you will operate MRI scanners, ensuring that the procedure yields high‑quality images and information for the healthcare professional to diagnose accurately. Your role includes interviewing patients, explaining procedures, positioning patients on the table, and maintaining a detailed knowledge of scanners and exam protocols.
- Position and prepare patients for exams according to the type of procedure.
- Perform procedures, assess patients throughout, and respond to patient needs as appropriate.
- Complete appropriate documentation for each study performed.
- Use professional discernment and critical thinking when performing procedures.
- Participate in orientation and training of new staff members and teach students during their clinical rotations.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of scanners and exam protocols to ensure the highest quality procedures.
Qualifications
- Currently registered as an MRI Technologist (ARRT MR registry).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification, as specified in policy.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- One year of experience in an MRI Imaging Department preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Valid credentials such as ARRT-MR, ARRT-R, ARMRIT, or Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology.
