Job summary

Arkansas Children’s is seeking an MRI Technologist for the MRI Technology department to perform diagnostic MRI scans under Radiologist direction. The role involves optimizing image quality, selecting appropriate coils and protocols, and ensuring patient safety during procedures.

The position calls for an Associate's degree or equivalent, with a recommended Bachelor’s degree. Direct 2 years of experience preferred, ARRT MRI Specialist or ARMRIT certification is beneficial, and a $10K sign-on

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of skills to perform diagnostic scans as directed by Radiologists.
• Develop scan protocols to optimize image quality while reducing scan length and repeats.
• Screen patients, families, and staff for pregnancy and MRI contraindications.
• Adhere to all safety recommendations regarding MRI.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Troubleshoot and report malfunctioning equipment.
• Comply with applicable regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

1. Knowledge of skills to performs diagnostic scans as directed by Radiologists.
2. Developed knowledge to use correct scan protocols in an effort to optimize image quality while decreasing scan length and repeat procedures, demonstrates knowledge of patient positioning and coil selection.
3. Developed knowledge to properly screen patients, families, and staff with attention to pregnancy and MRI contraindications.
4. Developed knowledge about and adheres to all safety recommendations regarding MRI.
5. Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
6. Has developed the ability to troubleshoot and report malfunctioning equipment.
7. Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
