Job summary

Arkansas Children’s Hospital is seeking a Senior CT Technologist for the Nights Monday-Thursday shift in Springdale. You will perform high-quality CT exams, serve as a Preceptor, and uphold ALARA principles while delivering compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
  • Bachelor's degree recommended
  • Direct - 6 years of experience
  • Recommended - Pediatric experience
  • Certification in Radiologic Technology or ARRT CT credentials

Responsibilities

  • Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
  • May serve as a Preceptor and ensure correct scan protocols to minimize radiation exposure.
  • Adheres to ALARA and radiation safety standards.
  • Manages IV and oral contrast administration for exams.
  • Explains exams to patients and families.
  • Maintains a clean, organized work area and modern CT technology.
  • Maintains equipment and requests service when needed.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities and complies with regulations.

A Senior CT Technologist is an Expert Technologist with the ability to perform quality CT exams in a safe and timely manner, while providing excellent patient care. May serve as a Preceptor to other staff members. May act as Lead when Lead CT Technologist is out.

Required Education

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma

Description
  1. Verifies exams as ordered by physician.
  2. Is an expert, and may serve as a Preceptor to perform correct scan protocols in an effort to decrease radiation exposure to patients.
  3. Is an expert in, and may serve as a Preceptor in the adherence to all radiation safety recommendations, including patient shielding. ALARA.
  4. Is an expert, and may serve as a Preceptor in the proper administration of IV and oral contrast.
  5. May serve as a Preceptor in the explanation of exams/procedures to patients and families.
  6. Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
  7. Ensures that work area is properly maintained.
  8. Is an expert, and may serve as a Preceptor in utilization of current or new and evolving technologies in CT.
  9. Maintains equipment and requests service as needed.
  10. Participates in performance improvement activities. Complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.
