Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York City seeks an MRI Technologist to perform imaging procedures with high diagnostic quality. You will operate and prepare specialized MRI equipment, position patients, and educate patients about procedures, ensuring safety and accurate labeling and documentation.

Requirements include NY State license in Diagnostic Radiology, ARRT MRI registry, BLS, and AMA/J.C.E.R.T.-approved program.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• Strong background in cross sectional anatomy, physical sciences and MR physics.
• 2 years MRI experience preferred; open to new grads.

Responsibilities

• Performs MRI imaging procedures.
• Operates and/or prepares specialized MRI equipment.
• Positions patients and coils for optimal study.
• Provides patient education on imaging procedures.
• Reviews patient safety questionnaire before MRI.
• Labels MRI images per department SOP and transmits to PACS.
• Ensures studies are completed in IDX and documented.
• Maintains MRI room cleanliness and equipment readiness.
• Records patient tracking information in IDX and schedules exams.
• Notifies supervisor of repairs or unsafe conditions.
• Assists physician as required.
• Performs related clerical duties when needed.
