Job summary

Intermountain Health Layton Hospital is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist for the graveyard shift to perform diagnostic MRI exams and support CT coverage as needed. You will work closely with radiologists and physicians to deliver high-quality imaging.

The role requires ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification (or ARRT(R) cross-training), a BLS certification, and 1–2 years of MRI experience. The team emphasizes safety, efficiency, and teaching fellow staff and students.

Qualifications

• ARRT MR or ARMRIT certification or ARRT(R) cross-trained in MRI.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• 1–2 years MRI technologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains ARRT/ARMRIT competency in MRI procedures.
• Ensures patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation.
• Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
• Adheres to MRI safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
• Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.
• Assists and instructs students and other MRI Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
• Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.
• Practices infection control and sterile techniques.
• Operates equipment and information systems to ensure quality images.
• Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
• Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.
