Join Our Team as an MRI Technologist - FT - Charlotte at Akumin

We are seeking a dedicated MRI Technologist to ensure patient safety and perform high-quality MR studies, either on-site or remotely. The role involves effective communication with radiologists, team members, patients, and customers, especially in a mobile environment. You may also be responsible for training and orienting new technologists, Patient Coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure patient safety through pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection techniques, and remote technologist oversight when required.
• Produce high-quality diagnostic images, operating multiple MR systems as needed.
• Use all communication channels effectively to address concerns, resolve problems, and manage conflicts.
• Communicate efficiently with customers and radiologists.
• Train and orient new staff, including technologists and assistants, on-site and remotely.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• ARRT (R), ARRT (MR), or ARMRIT certification as per contract requirements.
• State license, if applicable.
• CPR Certification.
• Valid driver’s license, if applicable.
• For technologists registered in other modalities: 3 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience or enrollment in an accredited MRI training program for over 6 months.
• For MR registered technologists: No experience required.
• Ability to work at multiple locations.
• Strong customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be required.
• Local travel may be necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• ARRT Magnetic Resonance Registry.
• One year of MRI experience.

Physical Requirements:

May include exposure to weather, magnetic fields, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases. Physical activities include sitting, standing, walking, repetitive movements, and lifting non-ambulatory patients.
