Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking an MRI Technologist to provide quality MRI imaging services. The role requires an Associate degree in Radiology, ARRT RT(R)(MR) certification within 1 year, and BLS. Experience: 1 year clinical MRI; CT experience preferred.

The position involves preparing exams, ensuring patient safety, maintaining PACS workflows, and education of staff and students. Must adhere to ARRT ethics and SIH policies; shifts available with on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiology required.
• ARRT RT(R)(MR) certification within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and explains exams to patients.
• Maintains anatomy and physiology knowledge related to imaging to optimize procedures and patient safety.
• Performs imaging procedures based on patient status, service requests, and imaging protocols.
• Ensures MRI safety precautions for patients, families, and staff.
• Maintains knowledge of procedures to perform duties.
• Assesses patient needs and provides imaging-related comfort and support.
• Prepares contrast agents per guidelines.
• Educates patients on MRI procedures and contrast media.
