Job summary

Duke Health’s MRI Technologist position at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC, supports high-field MRI procedures on a Tue-Fri 5pm-3am schedule with rotating holidays and on-call. The role requires MR safety screening, protocol adherence, patient care, and collaboration with radiologists and technologists.

Eligible candidates should have ARRT/ARMRIT MR certification within 18 months and a minimum two years’ MRI experience, with a path to promotion through our clinical ladder.

Qualifications

• Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification.
• ARRT or ARMRIT MR certification required within 18 months of employment.
• Level II minimum of two years’ MRI technologist experience.
• Level III minimum of 4 years’ MRI experience in the specialty modality.

Responsibilities

• Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure.
• Assist radiologist with procedure protocoling and performance.
• Start IVs and administer contrast media per protocol.
• Evaluate MR scans for technical quality and label appropriately.
• Coordinate scheduling and patient flow across MR sites.
• Provide education and training for student technologists and new physicians.
