Qualifications

• ARRT MR, ARMRIT, or NMTCB certification (with ARRT-MR or equivalent)
• Graduate of a radiologic technology specialty program; bachelor's degree preferred
• Strong MRI safety, procedures, and patient care knowledge

Responsibilities

• Obtain accurate patient information and prepare patients for exams while maintaining confidentiality.
• Apply ALARA principles to maximize patient safety and optimize imaging factors.
• Prepare and administer medications as prescribed and document activities.
• Assist with MR interventional procedures and support licensed practitioners.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, contributing to safety and quality improvements.

Role Summary

An MRI Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures to assist in diagnosis, research, or therapy. They prepare patients, obtain accurate imaging data, and ensure safety protocols are followed.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain correct patient information, identify patients properly, and prepare them for exams while maintaining confidentiality.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to maximize patient safety.
• Prepare and administer medications as prescribed, document activities, and evaluate image quality for proper positioning and technical standards.
• Assist with magnetic resonance interventional procedures and support licensed practitioners.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, applying safety principles to minimize risks.
• Select pulse sequences based on protocols, participate in quality improvement activities, and demonstrate proficiency in routine and complex duties.

Qualifications & Skills

• Certification by ARRT (MR), ARMRIT, or NMTCB with ARRT-MR or equivalent credentials.
• Graduation from a radiologic technology specialty training program; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety, technical procedures, and patient care.
