Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI scans, verify orders, and prepare patients with clear explanations. The role includes assisting physicians, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring accurate documentation in medical records.

Candidates must complete an AMA-approved radiologic or nuclear medicine program and obtain ARRT/NMTCB MRI credentials within one year, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology or NMTCB with MRI registry within one year of hire.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders with Radiologist before performing exams.
• Identify patients and prepare them for procedures with explanations and proper documentation.
• Interview patients, obtain medical history from EMR, and correlate results with exam being performed.
• Perform MRI scanning and assist physicians during invasive procedures.
• Maintain radiation safety and report equipment malfunctions.
• Operate radiology computer system, enter orders, and document contrast administration.
