Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, seeks an MRI technologist to perform MRI and diagnostic imaging procedures with emphasis on patient and staff safety. The role interfaces with customers to meet imaging needs and participates in CQI activities related to the hospital and radiology department.

Required ARRT (MR) license or progression toward it within one year, current BCLS, and at least two years in radiology/imaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree is preferred, but not required.
• Two year of radiological/imaging experience.
• Prefer specific experience and training in MRI. Must become ARRT (MR) licensed within one year of employment.
• ARRT license required.
• Current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of MRI equipment.
• Determine suitable posture, position patients, and shield as needed.
• Assess patient pain or claustrophobia and contact physician for intervention.
• Perform all patient care in a setting that optimizes safety and reduces errors.
