Job summary

Regional Medical Imaging, P.C. in Michigan is seeking an MRI Technologist Assistant to support technologists and ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient care. This role involves preparing patients, verifying orders, positioning for imaging, and assisting during procedures.

A Medical Assistant certification and CPR/Bloodborne Pathogens training are preferred. Part of a clinical team, you will help maintain safety standards, manage room prep, and attend training sessions as needed to support

Qualifications

• Six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred, or equivalent work experience and training.
• CPR and Blood Borne Pathogens certification.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge to obtain thorough medical histories.

Responsibilities

• Confirms scheduled exam and requesting physician are consistent with order.
• Verifies patient data and exam against the referring physician's order form.
• Interviews patients to explain MRI procedures and verify safety requirements.
• Positions patients and confirms comfort and operation of emergency bulb.
• Gains IV access as needed for contrast injections (does not inject).
• Creates Viewer and DICOM CDs and imports DICOM CDs for dictation.
• Displays competency with RIS and PACS systems.
• Maintains safe work area per MR safety standards.
• Work independently and in teams; stock/clean scan rooms and prep rooms.
• Document fire extinguishers and eye wash stations; laundry duties.
• Assists during breast biopsies and other duties as needed by Chief Tech.
• Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
