Job summary

Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to operate diagnostic MRI systems, adhering to established protocols and ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.

You will review histories, prepare contrast under Radiologist supervision, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. The position offers a rotating 40-hour schedule, with weekend shifts, across West Ann Arbor and Brighton sites. Exceptional guest relations and care are expected.

Qualifications

• ARRT MRI or ARMRIT certification required or enrollment with registry plan.
• Primary Source Verification is required for this classification.
• Recent hospital-based MRI experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic MRI procedures following protocols while ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.
• Review histories and MRI safety questionnaires for procedure suitability and HIPAA compliance.
• Position patients with hearing protection; optimize visibility of anatomy.
• Maintain MR safety standards for patients and staff.
• Operate MR equipment with selected imaging coils and document results accurately.
• Prepare and administer contrast under Radiologist supervision per guidelines.
• Provide clear instructions to patients, students, and health professionals.
• Maintain clean, stocked scan rooms and collaborate with teams.
• Train new staff as needed and support patient preparation tasks.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
