Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center is seeking an MRI Technologist I to perform MRI procedures per department protocols and operate MRI equipment with high proficiency. The role requires verifying orders with radiologists, identifying and preparing patients, and documenting procedures accurately.

Applicants must have ARRT-recognized radiologic/nuclear medicine training, MRI registry eligibility (or ARMRIT), and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from ARRT-recognized Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine program.
• MRI ARRT registry eligibility or ARMRIT required; registry within 1 year of hire.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Operates MRI scanners and associated equipment per departmental protocols.
• Verifies orders with the Radiologist before exams; refers questions as needed.
• Identifies patients and explains procedures; prepares patients for the procedure and documents appropriately.
• Assists in life support and code blue procedures when necessary; maintains sterile technique.
• Maintains radiation safety and reports equipment malfunctions.
