Job summary

Northwell Health seeks an MRI technologist at our New York facility to operate MRI and MRA equipment under radiologist supervision. You will position and clamp patients, explain procedures, and ensure safety for patients and staff.

The role requires NY DOH licensure, ARRT registration preferred, and minimum 2 years MRI experience in hospital settings. Proficiency with PACS/RIS and MR scanners is expected, along with a commitment to high-quality imaging.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency.
• Completion of two (2) years American Medical Association approved School of Radiologic Technology, required.
• Licensed by State of New York Department of Health, required.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years MRI experience in a hospital based setting utilizing a high field strength magnet, required.
• Experience with PACS and RIS and computer controlled equipment such as MR scanners, required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a radiologist, performs MRI and MRA procedures.
• Produces high quality images with minimum stress and exposure to the patient by dealing tactfully and cooperatively with patients and general public.
• Provides information and explanation to patient in regard to examination
• Checks patient identification and screening form in order to ensure proper administration of MRI & MRA procedures.
• Demonstrates the ability to properly position the patient on the table as required for the exam requested.
• Demonstrates the ability to operate the MRI unit as per protocols.
• Assists in the orientation and training of new technologists.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and ability to follow departmental protocols to produce appropriate studies.
• Performs related duties, as required.

AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology (2 years)

Licensed by State of New York Department of Health
