Northwell Health in New York seeks a Radiologic Technologist to operate MRI equipment, prepare patients, and assist in imaging procedures across multiple anatomical areas. You will ensure proper screening, consent, and data entry, while maintaining patient comfort and safety during exams.

The role requires NY/CT licensure, ARRT MR certification, and at least six months of radiology experience. BLS certification is also required. MRI experience is preferred.

Qualificações

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required.
• ARRT Registered Technologist (R.T.) and MR registration requirements as specified.
• Minimum of six (6) months experience as a Radiology Technologist; MRI experience preferred.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsabilidades

• Prepares patient for examination.
• Explains procedure in layman terms to relieve patient anxiety.
• Sets up equipment for the procedure in a timely fashion.
• Ensures patient is screened and consent obtained when necessary.
• Performs MRI procedures across abdominal, thoracic, neurological, and extremities exams.
• Positions patient on exam table and within the gantry.
• Inputs patient history and requisition data into system.
• Calculates scans needed based on patient size and sequence requirements.
• Contacts Radiologist to review scans and determine if additional imaging is needed.
• Transfers images to PACS and archives data.
• Assists Radiologist with I.V. contrast administration.
• Monitors patient condition during exam and reports changes.
• Performs minor repairs and calibration checks; troubleshoots equipment as needed.
• Reports major issues to management for prompt resolution.
• Assists in scheduling exams and managing patient flow.
