Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking an MR Technologist to perform a variety of MR procedures on pediatric and adult patients under the direction of the radiologist. The role requires knowledge of anatomy, safety and imaging protocols, and includes patient communication, documentation, and equipment maintenance.

Qualified candidates will have ARRT registration and MRI certification eligibility. Completion of a radiologic technology program is required, with BS or associate degree acceptable.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Radiologic technology program resulting in a two-year certificate and/or associate degree or four year baccalaureate degree.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history, explains the procedure, gains consent for contrast material administration and address any patient concerns prior to beginning the procedure.
• Screens patients and employees of all metal preventing access to Zone III/IV.
• Performs all necessary checks for accuracy of the prescription, precertification/authorization if required by individual insurance companies, EPIC order and patient identification.
• Perform all MR procedures following the appropriate imaging protocols.
• Compiles and reviews images, provides applicable comparison studies, and prepares documentation for interpretation.
• Performs quality control testing as required.
• Clean, adjust and perform routine maintenance on equipment; stock and replenish supplies as required.

Education

Radiologic technology program (2-year certificate/associate) or 4-year BS degree
