Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking an MR technologist to perform MR procedures for pediatric and adult patients under the direction of the radiologist.

Candidates must complete a radiologic technology program and be ARRT registered (board eligible) with current BCLS, and will obtain MRI certification within 6 months of hire; familiarity with imaging protocols, patient safety, and EPIC orders is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Radiologic technology program resulting in a two-year certificate and/or associate degree or four year baccalaureate degree.
• Current ARRT registration; board eligible and will obtain MRI certification within 6 months of hire.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history, explains the procedure and gains consent.
• Screens patients and employees to prevent access to restricted zones.
• Verifies prescription accuracy, precertification and patient identification.
• Performs MRI procedures following imaging protocols.
• Compiles and reviews images and prepares documentation for interpretation.
• Performs quality control testing as required.
• Maintains and replenishes supplies and equipment.
