Job summary

Northwell Health in New York seeks an experienced Radiologic Technologist specializing in MRI to operate MRI equipment, prep patients, and ensure imaging data is transmitted to PACS for diagnosis.

You will manage patient flow, document history, and assist radiologists with IV contrast administrations, safety checks, and image acquisition. Shift: Mon-Thu 9:30a-8p with 10% second shift differential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, required.
• New York State licensure as Radiologic Technologist with IV contrast administration certification, required.
• ARRT registration, required.
• MRI MR(ARRT) certification required within 18 months of entry date.
• BLS/BCLS certification, required.
• Prior radiology experience; MRI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs thorough screening of patients prior to procedure.
• Ensures no metal objects accompany patient into procedure room.
• Calculates GFR to determine IV contrast eligibility.
• Reviews and ensures accuracy of screening forms and IV contrast information.
• Prepares patients for examination and explains procedures.
• Displays proper procedure setup and selects appropriate radiofrequency coils.
• Transmits cases to on-call Radiologist via Tele-Radiology system.
• Administers IV and oral contrast per Radiologist order; calculates dose by weight.
• Performs venipuncture and documents IV contrast administration.
• Maintains safety and manages contrast reactions as needed.
• Performs additional duties as required.
