Job summary

Northwell Health in New York seeks a Radiologic Technologist specialized in MRI to operate MRI equipment, prepare patients, and obtain complete clinical information for physician diagnosis.

Responsibilities include IV contrast administration, patient screening, positioning, coordinating with radiologists via Tele-Radiology, and ensuring safe protocol compliance. NY licensure, ARRT, BLS required; MRI experience preferred. Sundays 7:30a–4p with additional shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• New York State licensure as Radiologic Technologist with IV contrast certification.
• ARRT registration required.

Responsibilities

• Performs thorough screening of patients prior to procedure.
• Ensures no metal objects accompany patient into procedure room.
• Checks patient creatinine level and calculates GFR to determine IV contrast eligibility.
• Reviews screening forms including IV contrast information sheet.
• Prepares patients for examination and explains procedures.
• Obtains consent for IV contrast materials.
• Performs MRI procedures including abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, extremities, and planning aspects.
• Positions patient on exam table and sets up equipment.
• Transmits cases to on-call Radiologist via Tele-Radiology system.
• Administers IV and oral contrast per Radiologist order.
• Verifies contraindications to IV contrast.
• Calculates contrast dose based on weight.
• Performs venipuncture and explains IV contrast administration.
• Manages IV line flush and power injector as needed.
• Recognizes and assists in reactions to contrast agent.
• Performs related duties as required.
