Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to operate CT and MRI equipment, prepare patients, and collect information for physician diagnosis. You will help manage patient flow and ensure images are properly mounted for review.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, setting up equipment, administering IV contrast as ordered, and performing CT/MRI procedures such as abdominal, thoracic, neuro exams and biopsies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
• New York State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
• ARRT Registered Technologist (R.T.) required for positions after 2010; CT/MRI ARRT certification due within 18 months.
• IV Contrast Administration certification within 6 months of entry.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification mandatory.
• Previous Radiologic Technologist experience; CT/MRI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examination and explains procedures to reduce anxiety.
• Sets up CT/MRI equipment and ensures proper patient positioning and data entry.
• Administers IV and/or oral contrast as ordered; calculates contrast dose based on weight.
• Performs CT/MRI procedures (abdomen, thorax, neuro, extremities, biopsies, etc.) and reviews images with Radiologist.
• Maintains image transfer and PACS archival; assists in case routing to on-call Radiologist.
