Job summary

Akumin is a leading outpatient radiology provider, hiring an MRI Technologist for its Santa Cruz facility. The role focuses on regional safety and high-quality MR studies, with training duties for new staff as needed.

Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, producing diagnostic images, coordinating supplies, and communicating with radiologists and customers. Associates degree or equivalent, ARRT MRI registry, and state licensure are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience.
• Registered Technologists by the ARRT, NMTCB or ARDMS.
• State License required and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient safety and pre-screen for contraindications.
• Produce high quality MR images for diagnosis.
• Order supplies and prep the unit for transport daily.
• Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists and staff.
• Train new technologists and Patient Coordinators as needed.

We are currently hiring for an MRI Technologist at our Santa Cruz facility. This will bea full time position.

Regional resource responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality MR studies. Insures effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications, aseptic injection technique, etc.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Orders supplies, cleans unit, assist in preparing for transport on a daily basis.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologist and/or PC’s

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience
• Registered Technologists by the ARRT, NMTCB or ARDMS
• State License
• Technologists performing mid-day moves
• State license, as required.
• CPR certification.
• Active state driver’s license.

Preferred Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
• Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.

Eligibility for benefits will vary based on role typeand hours worked.

The estimated hourly pay range for this role in California is $61.74 - $73.84. Actual compensation depends on experience, skills, location, and other factors such as internal equity and budget.
