Job summary

Akumin is hiring an MRI Technologist for our Raleigh, NC facility. This full-time role focuses on patient safety, high-quality CT image production, and effective communication with radiologists and customers. You may train new technologists and support staff as needed.

Candidates should have ARRT CT or NMTCB CT certification or equivalent, a valid state medical imaging license, CPR, and strong customer service skills. A flexible team environment is offered with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• ARRT CT or NMTCB CT certification is required or acceptable in lieu of ARRT registration.
• Must hold an approved state license for Medical Imaging where services are provided.
• CPR certification is required and is maintained current.
• Excellent customer service and communication with radiologists and patients.
• May train new technologists and patient coordinators as needed.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality CT images with attention to patient safety.
• Screen patients for contraindications and coordinate with radiologists.
• Troubleshoot scanner and peripheral equipment as needed.
• Communicate effectively with customers and the care team.
• Assist with training junior staff and coordinating workflow.

This will be a Full Time position.The MRTechnologist is responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality CT studies. Responsible for ensuring effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections. Also, the use of aseptic injection techniques.Produces high quality diagnostic images.Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.Trains new technologist and/or PC's.Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.).Position Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT.If allowable by state where service is provided certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable inlieu of ARRT registry.State license.Licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable.CPR certification.Technologists performing mid-day moves.Active State Driver’s License.Strong customer service skills.Organizational and multi-tasking skills.Basic knowledge of computer applications and programsThe COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.At Akumin, we invest in the well-being of our employees, so you can bring your best self to work each day.
