Job summary

Akumin is hiring a CT Technologist in the Raleigh, NC area for a full-time role. The CT Technologist ensures patient safety, performs high-quality CT studies, and communicates with radiologists and patients.

The role includes training new technologists and patient coordinators, and troubleshooting the scanner and related equipment. Requirements include ARRT or NMTCB where accepted, state license, CPR, and a high school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred).

Qualifications

• Pre-screening for contraindications to radiation and contrast injections.
• ARRT certification or NMTCB acceptable in lieu of ARRT where state allows.
• CPR certification and radiologic license as applicable.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use imaging systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and perform high quality CT studies.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists and customers.
• Train new technologists and Patient Coordinators when needed.
• Troubleshoot the CT scanner and peripheral equipment including PACS monitors.

This will be a full time position.The CT Technologist is responsible for patient safety and the performance of high quality CT studies. Responsible for ensuring effective communication with customers, including radiologists as necessary. In some instances, trains new technologists and/or Patient Coordinators.Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections. Also, the use of aseptic injection techniques.Produces high quality diagnostic images.Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.Trains new technologist and/or PC's.Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.).Position Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT.If allowable by state where service is provided certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable inlieu of ARRT registry.State license.Licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable.CPR certification.Technologists performing mid-day moves.Active State Driver’s License.Strong customer service skills.Organizational and multi-tasking skills.Basic knowledge of computer applications and programsThe COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.At Akumin, we invest in the well-being of our employees, so you can bring your best self to work each day.
