Job summary

Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM seeks an MRI Technologist for a full-time outpatient setting. You will review patient histories, educate patients, administer contrast as ordered, monitor patients, prepare equipment, position patients, perform imaging, and report results.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in radiologic sciences.
• ARRT or ARMRIT MRI technologist registration.
• State licensure as MRI Technologist in New Mexico.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports changes as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Positions patient and performs imaging; analyzes results for imaging quality.
• Resolves image quality issues by repositioning patient or repeating procedures.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

How you'll contribute

An MRI Technologist who excels in this role:

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.

• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.

• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.

• Prepares equipment and supplies.

• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.

• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.

• Enters, transmits and reports scan results

What we're looking for

Applicants should have an associate or bachelor's degree in radiologic sciences. Additional requirements include:

• License/Certification:
  • Must be registered as an MRI Technologist by the ARRT or ARMRIT and licensed by the state of New Mexico as an MRI Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
