Job summary

Lourdes Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an MRI Technologist to educate patients, prepare contrast, monitor status, and perform imaging with strict safety and quality standards.

The role requires ARRT/ MR certification within 1 year of hire, with an ARRT registry in MR preferred, and a BLS-HCP certification. The position is PRN with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an ARRT, JRCERT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Radiation Therapy, MR, or Nuclear Medicine is required.
• Associate's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports changes as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment, selects imaging parameters, and performs safety/quality control procedures.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and reports issues as necessary.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
• Analyzes results and identifies imaging quality issues and resolves by repositioning or reimaging.

How You'll Contribute

An MRI Technologist who excels in this role:

• Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.

What We're Looking For

Education: Graduated from an ARRT, JRCERT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB accredited program in Radiologic Technology, Radiation Therapy, MR, or Nuclear Medicine required. Associate's degree preferred.

Experience: 1 year in Radiologic technology, Radiation Therapy, MR, Nuclear Medicine, or CT procedures preferred.

Certifications: Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) required; ARRT, JRCERT, ARMRIT, or NMTCB registry in Radiology, Radiation Therapy, MR, or Nuclear Medicine Registry required. ARRT Registry in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) required (within 1 year hire/transfer)

Hourly range: $41.61 - $64.32
