Job Summary :

The MRI Technologist will independently perform all MRI procedures requested on a physician's order. The procedures will be performed promptly and proficiently. The MRI Technologist will ensure all safety criteria are met. The primary goal is to provide quality diagnostic images for interpretation.

Job Description :

• Perform all technical aspects of MRI procedures, providing diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation.
• Ensure patient, operator, and visitor safety throughout procedures.
• Utilize the pressure injector safely and correctly.
• Monitor and maintain patient safety during procedures.
• Complete all necessary consent forms prior to contrast administration.
• Document any reactions to contrast media.
• Maintain cleanliness of the room and equipment according to infection control standards.
• Order supplies needed for MRI procedures.
• Use computer systems effectively, in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Follow safety protocols and comply with medical, state, and federal safety standards.
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate patient care.
• Record all patient data accurately, ensure proper billing, coding, and modifiers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses :

Education and National Credentials :

• Current CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved accredited program in Radiologic Technology or Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
• Registered by the ARRT (MR) or the ARMRIT.
• Complete ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT (MR) certification within 27 months of employment.

Complete MR competency checklist within the first 90 days of employment.

• Achieve ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT (MR) certification within 2 years of completing the competency checklist.
• Note: State licensure is not required in Kentucky or Indiana as this is a non-radiation producing position.

Specialized Knowledge :

• Proven ability to inject intravenous contrast agents.
• Advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy.

Experience :

• Clinical experience from an approved program.
