MRI Technologist - Viewmont Imaging - Part Time - Evenings

Job Summary

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists are responsible for using radiofrequencies within a magnetic field for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. They perform magnetic resonance imaging, acquire, and analyze data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. MRI technologists independently perform or assist in magnetic resonance imaging procedures, and prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications in accordance with laws and policies.

Job Duties

  • Ensure correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared, and clinical history is documented while respecting confidentiality.
  • Use appropriate imaging protocol, optimize technical factors, maximize patient safety, and apply ALARA principles.
  • Prepare and/or administer medications through vascular access sites as prescribed.
  • Evaluate images for quality, verify storage and transfer of data.
  • Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
  • Apply MRI safety principles to minimize risks.
  • Assist with MRI interventional procedures.
  • Perform MRI procedures as prescribed, select pulse sequences considering protocols.
  • Participate in MRI safety and implant investigations.

Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. The role requires compliance with policies and additional department-specific skills.

Position Details

Required Certifications upon hire:

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiology Technologists)
  • NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board)
  • ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists)

New graduates must obtain ARRT-R or NMTCB prior to employment. Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps for advancing to level 2 within 24 months.

Education

Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required). Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 1 year related work experience (Preferred).

Certifications and Licenses

  • ARRT in Radiography
  • NMTCB in Nuclear Medicine
  • ARMRIT in MRI
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
