Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform general MRI examinations and maintain safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess an ALD in Radiologic Sciences, ARRT certification, and have at least one year of experience. Job description

Join to apply for the MRI Technologist role at Sentara Health.

Overview: Performs general MRI examinations while maintaining safety integrity of the MRI operational area for all individuals, including staff and patients. Maintains an adequate supply inventory, explains examinations and procedures to patients, and completes departmental documentation. Performs MR Tech I responsibilities with additional competencies in Breast biopsy and/or Prostate biopsy, dual modality MR/CT Tech, or Hospital-Based/Standing ED. Knowledge in Radiologic Technology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Sonography, or Radiation Therapy.

Location: Elizabeth City, NC

Work Shift: Rotating

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide quality MRI imaging under physician supervision, adhering to protocol standards.
  2. Administer MRI contrast per protocol.
  3. Evaluate and approve patient MRI safety screening forms prior to scanning.
  4. Review patient records for accuracy and evaluate implants/devices through vendor resources.
  5. Maintain patient records, reports, and files.
  6. Perform MRI exams per protocol, review imaging for quality, and ensure accuracy before interpretation.
  7. Explain procedures to patients and complete departmental documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: ALD Radiologic Sciences or Trade school certificate.
  • Certification: ARRT or MR.
  • Experience: 1 year Radiologic tech experience.
  • Must obtain ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT within 2 years of hire.
  • Preferred: Intravenous (IV) Competency.
