Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center in Clyde, North Carolina is seeking an MRI Tech for a PRN, variable schedule. The role focuses on MRI, CT and X-ray imaging within a patient-focused imaging department that values teamwork and professional growth.

You will work with a dedicated imaging team providing high-quality diagnostics, patient education, and accurate results to support clinicians in delivering effective care.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have a current state Radiologic Technologist license and possess a degree from an approved course in Radiologic Technology.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• One or more years of MRI experience, with MRI registry or registry-eligibility.
• Must be a member of ARRT and maintain registry after receipt.
• Crucial thinking, decisive judgement, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Capable of working in a stressful environment and taking appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician orders; educates patient about procedures, equipment and exam.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope.
• Monitors patient condition and reports changes as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Selects exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Positions patient and performs imaging; analyzes results and addresses quality issues.
• Resolves image quality issues and transmits reports.

How you'll contribute

An MRI Tech who excels in this role:

• Reviews patient history and physician’s orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient’s understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state Radiologic Technologist license and possess a degree from an approved course in Radiologic Technology. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• One or more years of experience in MRI, hold an MRI registry or MRI registry eligible.
• Must be a member of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and maintain registry once received.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
