Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an MRI Tech for a full-time day shift. A $10,000 sign-on with a 2-year commitment is offered to eligible applicants.

The MRI Tech will support imaging across X-ray, CT, and MRI, ensuring accurate diagnoses and compassionate patient care. Licensure, BLS, and ARRT registry are required, with opportunities for professional growth within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Current state Radiologic Technologist license.
• Degree from an approved Radiologic Technology program.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• One or more years of MRI experience.
• Must be an ARRT member and maintain registry.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and orders; educate patient on procedures.
• Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications as allowed.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to changes.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for imaging.
• Select exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Position patient and perform MRI procedures; analyze results for quality.
• Resolve image quality issues through repositioning or repeats.

How You'll Contribute

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state Radiologic Technologist license and possess a degree from an approved course in Radiologic Technology. Additional requirements include

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• One or more years of experience in MRI, hold an MRI registry or MRI registry eligible.
• Must be a member of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and maintain registry once received.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
