Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking a CT Tech to join the imaging team on a PRN, variable schedule. You will contribute to high-quality imaging using X-ray, CT, and MRI, ensuring accurate diagnoses and compassionate patient care.

The role emphasizes safety, patient education, and collaboration within a supportive department. Requirements include a 2-year radiography education, ARRT registration, and BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • Must have 2-year certificate, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in radiography.
  • Current ARRT registration.
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition and reports changes as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies for imaging procedures.
  • Maintains safety standards and quality control on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and reports issues.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
  • Analyzes results and addresses any imaging quality issues.

How you'll contribute

A CT Tech who excels in this role:


Reviews patient history and physician's orders.


Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.


When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.


Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.


Prepares equipment and supplies.


Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.


Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.


Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).


Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.


Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.

What we're looking for

Must have a 2-year certificate, associate degree, or bachelor's degree as well as a current ARRT registration. Additional requirements include:



  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.

  • One year of experience preferred
