Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking an MRI Tech to join our imaging team in a full-time, day-shift role. A $10,000 sign-on with a 2-year commitment is offered to qualified candidates, who will work in a patient-focused environment that values collaboration and professional growth.

Applicants should hold a Radiologic Technologist license, an MRI registry or registry-eligible status, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Requires ARRT certification and current state Radiologic Technologist license.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• One or more years of MRI experience or MRI registry eligible.
• Must maintain ARRT registry.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician orders; educates patients about procedures.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope.
• Monitors patient condition and reports changes promptly.
• Prepares equipment and supplies for imaging.
• Selects exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedures; analyzes results and addresses image quality issues.
• Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

How you'll contribute

An MRI Tech who excels in this role:

• Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
• Prepares equipment and supplies.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state Radiologic Technologist license and possess a degree from an approved course in Radiologic Technology. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• One or more years of experience in MRI, hold an MRI registry or MRI registry eligible.
• Must be a member of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and maintain registry once received.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
