Job summary

Ascension is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform high-quality imaging procedures across multiple North and South Market locations. You will educate patients, ensure safety protocols, and accurately submit imaging data to the PACS system while maintaining EMR integrity.

Minimum credentials include BLS and MRI-related certifications (NMTCB/ARRT/ARDMS/ARMRIT). A High School diploma or equivalent with relevant experience is required, with preference for an associate/technical degree and 2+ years

Qualifications

  • Requires BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Possesses one or more MRI-related credentials (NMTCB/ARRT/ARDMS/ARMRIT) before start date.
  • Radiologic technologist skills with MRI specialization preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate MRI imaging to aid diagnosis and treatment.
  • Educate and prepare patients, including pre-screening and radiation safety adherence.
  • Submit images/documents to PACS and ensure data integrity in EMR/PACS.
  • Manage patient records and imaging data for seamless information flow.
  • Maintain MRI equipment through regular checks and report malfunctions.

How you’ll make an impact in this role
  • Perform highly accurate imaging procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies.
  • Educate and prepare patients for procedures, including pre-screening and clear communication, while strictly adhering to radiation safety protocols.
  • Guarantee patient safety and data integrity by ensuring all images and documents are promptly and accurately submitted to the PACS system.
  • Manage patient records and imaging data, utilizing the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and PACS to ensure seamless information flow.
  • Maintain peak performance of imaging equipment by conducting regular checks and promptly reporting malfunctions to technical support.
What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Radiography (R), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), Sonography (S) or Vascular Sonography (VS) also accepted.
    • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonograph (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Any specialty accepted.
    • Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credentialed from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in General Practice credentialed from the Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
