Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a dedicated MRI support professional to join our MRI service team. Under supervision, you will assist the MRI Technologist with patient positioning, safety, and clerical tasks, ensuring accurate documentation and smooth workflow.

You will perform pre-screening calls, maintain sanitation and equipment readiness, and help coordinate schedules. A high school diploma and BLS certification are required; applicable signing bonuses may be discussed during interviews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS healthcare provider certification required before completion of 90-day probation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic clerical and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records patient history and verifies orders; reviews relevant lab results.
• Assists MR technologist with transferring/positioning patients; ensures safety and modesty.
• Prepares oral contrast media under supervision and documents work in HIS/RIS/PACS.
• Maintains cleanliness of rooms and equipment; keeps supplies stocked.
• Keeps up to date with MRI safety policies and procedures.
• Performs other clerical tasks and assists technologists as needed.
• Conducts pre-screening telephone interviews with patients prior to service.
• Assists in obtaining implant documentation for MRI safety purposes.
• Assists with obtaining clinical protocol documentation from Radiologist.
• Can book or reschedule patients as needed.
