Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an MRI Service Support Clerk to assist radiology teams with patient information, scheduling, and safety protocols. You will help prepare patients for MRI, document procedures in HIS/RIS/PACS, and support technologists throughout the shift.

Responsibilities include pre-screening patients, ensuring safety, and coordinating with radiologists. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and clerical skills in a dynamic clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record patient information and verify orders.
• Assist the technologist with patient transfer and positioning.
• Prepare oral contrast media and document work in HIS/RIS/PACS.
• Maintain cleanliness of rooms and equipment, restock supplies.
• Stay updated on MRI safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with clerical tasks and tech support as needed.
• Conduct pre-screening interviews via telephone with patients.
• Collect documentation of implants for MRI safety.
• Obtain clinical documentation for MRI protocols.
• Book or reschedule patients as needed.
• Comply with departmental policies and safety regulations.
