Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA is seeking an MRI Radiology Technologist Assistant on a PRN basis. You will safely transport patients, assist with transfers, and help prepare imaging rooms and equipment for diagnostic procedures.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent and may prefer one year of related experience. You will support technologists, communicate with patients and staff, and help maintain a clean, orderly work environment.

Qualifications

• Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: One-year related experience.
• Hours: PRN - Rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports to assigned areas, assists patient in lifting, moving, transferring.
• Cleans transport equipment daily.
• Replenishes O2 tank supply and handles O2 equipment safely.
• Assists technologist in transferring and observing patients.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, peers, supervisors, and other departments.
• Stocks linen and keeps blanket supply replenished in warmer.
• Provides assistance as needed to fulfill patient and other customer requests.
• Prepares imaging rooms with necessary supplies and equipment for diagnostic procedures.
• Performs clerical duties as necessary for all diagnostic procedures.
• Maintains an orderly and clean work environment.

Interacts professionally and effectively with medical staff, patients and families.

Assists the technologist with patient care responsibilities.

Transports patients to and from the procedure room.

Performs Other Related Duties As Required.

Sends for patient when directed by technologist.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION

Required: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience
