Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Per Diem Medical Radiographer in Radiology MRI to provide diagnostic imaging services and ensure patient safety. The role requires MRI proficiency, proper patient handling, and accurate technical adjustments under supervision.

Qualified candidates will hold NYS Radiologic Technology licensure with IV contrast, ARRT-MRI certification, and current BLS. Per diem schedule includes night shifts and potential teaching responsibilities within the imaging department.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from a Diagnostic Radiology Technology program.
• Licensed by NYS DOH in Diagnostic Radiology with IV contrast.
• ARRT-MRI Certification required.
• Current BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic exams, positions and transfers patients and uses immobilization devices.
• Selects proper technical factors and operates MRI equipment per patient.
• Assists in safety practices and preventing cross-contamination.
• In supervisor's absence, may act as supervisor.
• May conduct quality control tests and participate in required research.
• May teach radiology students or hospital personnel on procedures and equipment.
