Job summary

Stony Brook University Hospital Imaging Center is seeking a Medical Radiographer III for MRI to perform diagnostic scans, position patients, and support the Radiology team with high-quality imaging and patient care. Qualifications include NYS DOH licensure in Diagnostic Radiology with IV contrast certification, ARRT-MRI, and current BLS.

The initial schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with weekend availability as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate from a Diagnostic Radiology Technology program.
  • Licensed in Diagnostic Radiology with IV contrast injection certification in NYS.
  • ARRT-MRI certification.
  • Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Produces diagnostic MRI exams and positions patients using proper technical factors.
  • Ensures safety and protection of patients, including use of immobilization devices and sterile technique.
  • May act as supervisor in absence of supervisor or senior technologist.
  • Assists in first aid and prevents cross-contamination.
  • Participates in quality control or research as required.
  • Involves teaching radiology students or staff on procedures and equipment.
  • Maintains adherence to department guidelines and objectives.

5+ years MRI experience

Education

Graduate from a Diagnostic Radiology Technology program
NYS DOH licensed in Diagnostic Radiology Technology with IV Contrast Injection certification
ARRT-MRI Certification
Current BLS Certification
