Job summary

UPMC Trinity is seeking an MRI Supervisor to provide operational leadership for the MRI department, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered imaging services.

You will supervise MRI staff, manage daily operations, scheduling, and workflow, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.

The role supports strategic planning, budgeting, recruitment, and process improvements while maintaining a focus on quality, safety, and exceptional patient experience.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an MRI or radiology department.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (TJC, ACR, ODH).
• Strong communication and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, supervision, coaching, and support to MRI staff, support personnel, and students to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
• Oversees daily MRI operations, including staffing, workflow, scheduling, and departmental performance.
• Assists with recruitment, onboarding, performance management, staff development, and retention.
• Ensures compliance with policies and regulatory, accreditation, quality, and safety standards.
• Maintains accountability for department supplies, equipment, documentation, billing integrity, and resources.
• Participates in quality improvement by evaluating processes and implementing corrective actions.
• Assists with budget planning and resource management to support goals.
• Performs MRI technologist duties as needed, including patient imaging and on-call coverage.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
