Job summary

GE HealthCare in the United States seeks an experienced Lead Magnet Development Engineer to develop and optimize MRI magnet assembly processes for new products and improvements. You will bridge engineering design with manufacturing execution, translating designs into safe, reliable, and cost-effective processes.

You will lead process development, tooling, DFM initiatives, and interdepartmental collaborations to ensure successful launches and sustained operations across the MRI magnet lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional manufacturing/assembly experience.
• Familiarity with heavy machinery, assembly technologies, and manufacturing methods.
• Experience in cross-functional, multidisciplinary engineering environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of MRI magnet assembly processes, tooling, and manufacturing methods for new products.
• Translate magnet designs into robust, scalable manufacturing processes.
• Lead R&D to improve processes, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Develop, test, and validate new assembly technologies and tooling concepts.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure product development and readiness.
• Drive DFM initiatives incorporating safety, quality and efficiency.
• Support ramp-up, transfers, and ongoing production operations.
• Analyze performance data to identify process improvements and cost savings.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause investigations related to assembly and processes.
• Prepare technical reports, design reviews, and process improvement recommendations.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs.
• Collaborate with global teams and suppliers to meet milestones.
