Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist for a home-based role to influence imaging protocols across a large health system. You will lead CT and MRI protocol development—especially cardiac imaging—and build vendor partnerships to evaluate new technologies.

You will guide imaging initiatives, advise leadership on equipment decisions, and stay at the forefront through conferences and professional development.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics, or related field required.
• PhD preferred.
• Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required.
• Board Certification by ABR or ABNM or ABHP or other recognized medical physics board.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Serves as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray Registration and RAM licenses.
• Develops and evaluates radiation safety policies to minimize exposure.
• Oversees Equipment Performance Evaluations of diagnostic imaging devices.
• Performs dosimetry and shielding calculations to meet regulatory standards.
• Coordinates space planning with ALARA principles.
• Participates in quarterly physics reviews and radiation safety audits.
• Collaborates on incident investigations to mitigate impact.
• Leads Radiation Protocol and Radiation Safety Committee activities.
• Supports accreditation via ACR as needed.
• Coordinates acceptance testing of new imaging equipment and system performance.
