Job summary

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics, or related field required.
• PhD preferred.
• License/Certification: Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required.
• Board Certification by the American Board of Radiology or American Board Science of Nuclear Medicine or American Board of Health Physics or other board certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Acts as primary Radiation Safety Officer liaison to regulatory bodies.
• Develops radiation safety policies and reduces radiation exposure.
• Oversees Equipment Performance Evaluations for X-ray and MRI equipment.
• Performs dosimetry calculations and shielding assessments to meet regulatory standards.
• Coordinates with architects on radiation shielding and space planning.
• Participates in quarterly audits to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
