Qualifications

• Master's degree in physics or related field required; PhD preferred.
• Texas Medical Physics license required; board certification encouraged.
• Active professional society membership is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic radiological and medical nuclear physics expertise.
• Serve as primary Radiation Safety Officer for RAM licenses and COR.
• Develop and evaluate radiation safety policies and practices.
• Oversee equipment performance evaluations for x-ray and MRI systems.
• Perform dosimetry calculations and shielding assessments.
• Collaborate with health physicists on radiation incidents and corrective actions.
• Participate in RPC/RSC meetings and accreditation activities.

Education

Master of Science in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics, or related field

PhD preferred

Texas License in Medical Physics specialty

Board Certification (ABR/ABMSNM/ABHP or equivalent)
