Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist for a home-based role to lead imaging protocol development across a large health system. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, guide new imaging initiatives, and advise leadership on equipment and purchasing decisions.

The position emphasizes active professional development, adherence to ALARA principles, and ongoing reporting to the Director of Radiation Safety to support organizational goals.

Qualificações

• Education: Master of Science in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics, or related field required.
• PhD preferred.
• License/Certification: Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required.
• Board Certification by the American Board of Radiology or American Board Science of Nuclear Medicine or American Board of Health Physics or other nationally recognized medical physics board certification.

Responsabilidades

• Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
• Carries out the responsibilities and duties of the primary Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) for X-Ray Registration and RAM licenses, serving as liaison to the Texas Department of State Health Services.
• Develops and evaluates radiation safety policies to minimize exposure and ensure safe practices.
• Oversees Equipment Performance Evaluations (EPE) of imaging equipment and ensures image quality and technical standards.
• Participates in Radiation Protocol Committees (RPC) and Radiation Safety Committees (RSC) meetings to ensure best practices and regulatory compliance.
• Assists with accreditations through the American College of Radiology (ACR) as needed.
• Coordinates regulatory surveys and inspections and supports department-based goals.
