Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an experienced MRI/CT technologist to position and immobilize patients, select optimal technical factors, and process data for high-quality scans. You will operate MRI/CT equipment, handle contrast administration, and ensure safety and accuracy across procedures.

The role emphasizes patient history collection, image networking to PACS, and adherence to safety standards, with ongoing education and collaboration with radiologists and staff.

Qualifications

• 3 years general radiology experience.
• ARRT RT Registry, IDNS License, CPR Certification.
• Basic knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and usual MRI/CT procedures.

Responsibilities

• Position patients and select technical factors for optimal MRI/CT quality.
• Post-process imaging data to enhance information.
• Operate MRI/CT equipment and related peripherals (satellite console, disc drives, injector, laser cameras).
• Transfer patients to/from the scanner and prepare them for examination.
• Initiate IVs for contrast media per policy with universal precautions.
• Process and copy films; network images to PACS; save to optical discs as needed.
• Obtain patient history to assist radiologist and ensure criteria are met.
• Maintain safety standards and attend required inservices.
• Document equipment issues and inventory; assist in scheduling examinations.
• Stay updated on MRI/CT and radiologic developments.
• Interact effectively with internal and external customers.
