Qualifications

• Formal MRI or radiology training with emphasis on protocols and safety.
• Certification by ARRT or ARMRIT preferred and CPR trained.
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI physics.

Responsibilities

• Position patients and select technical factors to obtain high-quality MRI exams.
• Perform post-processing to enhance image data.
• Operate MRI support equipment and start/complete exams in RadNet.
• Initiate IVs for contrast per department policy.
• Review and adjust patient charges for procedures performed.
• Produce CDs for patients or physicians.
• Coordinate scheduling and transportation of inpatients.
• Maintain MRI logs and scheduling books; document QA data.
• Ensure allergy history is obtained and images are sent to PACS.
• Scan documents, review exams, and ensure proper radiologist interpretation.
• Maintain clean, safe work environment and identify patients with two IDs.
• Respond to emergencies (Code Blue, Rapid Response) as needed.
• Keep abreast of MRI protocols and emerging technologies.
• Provide instruction to staff and students; assist scheduling for scanners.
