Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners, an MSO coordinating a network of orthopedic practices, seeks an MRI Authorizations specialist in Warwick, RI. The role interfaces with staff to expedite MRI authorizations, collect accurate demographic and clinical data, and schedule procedures with physicians.

Responsibilities include obtaining MRI orders, requesting authorizations online/by phone, informing patients about benefits and co-pays, and updating authorization status across multiple systems.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Obtain MRI Orders/requests for target locations in the organization by monitoring EMR, phone, online, or emails.
• Conduct Online/Phone Authorization request for MRI.
• Conduct Online/Phone authorization investigation of MRI benefits.
• Communication of authorization/benefits/co-payments to patients prior to exams.
• Update authorization status through process and confirm receipt of MRI.
• Scheduling of MRI and follow-up visits with the physicians.
• Facilitation of Peer-to-Peer reviews for MRI, as needed.
• Provision of Medical records in pursuit of MRI’s.
• Documentation of Authorization processed through various systems: Centricity/Exscribe/Health I Pass
• Other duties as assigned.
