Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking a Project Engineer in Poway, CA to support MQ-9B system integration, testing, and operations.

The role is a senior engineering position, providing technical leadership, coordinating across engineering, flight operations, program management, customers and vendors to resolve complex issues and meet program objectives. The candidate will lead integration and test activities from planning through execution, data analysis, discrepancy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in engineering or related discipline and progressive engineering experience.
• Nine+ years with a bachelor’s degree, seven+ years with a master’s degree, or four+ years with a PhD.
• Professional Engineering License desirable.
• Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance.
• Strong communication and leadership for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead MQ-9B integration, developmental test, operational test, and operations-support activities.
• Translate objectives and requirements into executable test strategies with risks and resources.
• Provide technical leadership during test execution and ensure compliance with plans and safety requirements.
• Review test plans and reports, identify gaps, risks, and execution concerns.
• Coordinate system-level integration across air vehicles, ground control, payloads, and software.
• Lead test-readiness efforts and resolve issues affecting execution.
• Mentor engineers and staff; may lead a project team.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to ~30%.
